The Challenge
As part of an effort to reduce overall transportation spend, Southern Lock wanted to explore potential areas of cost savings. They quickly determined that their largest expense within the transportation budget, small parcel, likely offered the greatest likelihood for savings. To ensure that their parcel pricing was market competitive, they asked ISS to evaluate current pricing and processes with their parcel carrier. ISS conducted the initial analysis at no cost to Southern Lock – and verified the potential for savings and optimization of the current parcel pricing and processes.
Our Solution
Motus Logistics conducted negotiations with the appropriate industry carriers, and within weeks, was able to provide Southern Lock with over a 67% increase in incentives savings – and an overall reduction in small parcel annual costs of 9.9%.
Motus also realized huge savings with their incumbent small parcel carrier by addressing high-impact service level incentives and accessorial surcharges. This agreement provided a turnkey solution that saved time and resources, allowing Southern Lock to simply sign the newly negotiated agreement for immediate savings – with no change to their operations. ISS continues to monitor Southern Lock’s carrier invoices to ensure they’re getting the most of their carrier agreement and are not incurring unnecessary surcharges.
